Adek Bassey is the executive director of Today for Tomorrow Foundation (TFT), a youth-led NGO working with young people in Nigeria to develop solutions addressing issues affecting them.

The Family Planning News Network (FPNN) Community Reporters caught up with Adek at the 8th Nigeria Family Planning Conference in Abuja (2-6 December 2024).

Here, Adek explains why the conference theme and focus on investment is so important—especially for young people in the country.

"Investment goes beyond funding," she says. Investing in young people involves capacity building and making sure youth voices are part of any conversation in the family planning field.
